Whats beneficial about failure?

Some feel failure isn't beneficial at all. While in my opinion I find failure to be non-existent in a sense. I only feel that failure should be used if you give up. The word failure is basically just another way of saying you didn't succeed, this time. If you fail, but don't give up you are basically learning. However, if I were to fail a test, then its because I failed to put forth effort to study for it, and basically gave up.

Through failure we gain many things. It encourages us to look for solutions that we wouldn't have normally been looking for. It gives us experience, in a sense that we won't do such a thing again because we know the result. Failure encourages the strong and discourages the weak(if you can't deal with failure your aren't going to survive). It encourages improvement and planning, (ex next time I won't mix the two highly reactive compounds without proper safety equipment). Finally, failure reveals your weakness. You can take what you have learned and use it to better yourself as a person.
Thomas Edison failed more than 1,000 times when trying to create the light bulb.
When asked about it, Edison allegedly said, "I have not failed 1,000 times. I have
successfully discovered 1,000 ways to NOT make a light bulb." Nobody is born perfect
and knowing all we learn through failures. Whether I'm playing an video game, making a
video for my media class,or for fun,I am constantly learning new things.

To sum it all up failure is beneficial why? It allows us to learn from our mistakes,
better ourselves, and show us 1,000 ways not to make a light bulb. Without failure there
can be no improvement. With out failure we will fail.

The Magic of Guilt

While I myself have never experienced guilt to the point where it drove me crazy I know enough about it to form a legit point. Like in the Tale Tell Heart, by Edgar Allen Poe, guilt can drive people insane. Guilt could be from anything to eating the last piece of pie to killing your brother for stealing the last piece of pie, these things are of course guilt, but things that cause it. Guilt is just that little voice in your head saying "You shouldn't have done that. Now your going to regret it." The best way to deal with guilt is to just let it out. You won't feel any better unless the truth is out. In a sense "the truth will set you free" unless you committed a crime then you'll just end up in jail(but it will free you from the voice in your head driving you crazy).

Technological Advancements

Technology even though it is fairly recent seems as though it has been around forever. 20 years ago there was no such thing as Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Myspace or even the Internet. I think this video truly sends out the message of how much we have grown as a society. How much we have changed as a society. I personally think that the world has become a better more "now" kind of world.

I think that teachers can make better use of technology in their class rooms by changing their teaching methods. For example everybody having their own device that the teacher can send notes to instead of the student having to write down all of the notes. Or if the teachers were to all post their homework online and have students do the same so that the students won't have to miss anything if out. These things will benefit me and other students by making school a little less hard and allowing for the participation in class lectures a bit more enjoyable.
